It is key to maintaining a smooth, even glowing complexion. Although you may be getting plenty of vitamin C in your diet, there is no way of knowing if it is making its way to your skin. By applying Vitamin C topical it is the most direct and beneficial ways to reap the benefits of this amazing ingredient. Collagen is naturally present in your skin and helps keep it from sagging. But your body slows down collagen production as you age. Vitamin C applied to the skin can encourage new collagen to grow. It also helps maintain the collagen you do have and protects the precious protein from damage. The antioxidants in vitamin C may help defend against the damage that UV light can cause. That doesn’t mean that you can use a vitamin C skin serum in place of sunscreen. It can’t replace SPF since it doesn’t absorb UVA or UVB rays. But if UV light does get into your skin, some research suggests that vitamin C can help blunt the harm. Vitamin C is available in facial moisturizers and serums. Serums are more concentrated than moisturizers and more easily absorb into the skin, which is why more skincare specialists recommend vitamin c serums. Ready to incorporate vitamin C into your daily skin routine? Your skincare daily routine should generally include:
My two go to Vitamin C products are Eve Taylor C Bright Priming Moisturiser Spf 30 £23 This product is illuminating to the skin with its light reflecting capabilities. It is a fantastic primer for under makeup or with no makeup for even glowing skin. Eve Taylor Brightening Serum £38 This serum has powerful antioxidants to guard against free radicals and all the other amazing benefits of adding vitamin c into our skincare. For double the benefits apply under c Bright Priming Moisturiser. If your interested in skin you may have heard the term 'free radicals' thrown around a few times. so what are they?
When atoms are taken away from molecules in the skin, it causes damage to our skin's DNA that can speed along skin ageing. Free radicals can be created from pollution such as smog, dust and cigarette smoke, as well as our good friend the suns UV rays. The way i like to explain free radicals is: if you your fruit bowl is full up with 1 piece of rotten fruit. This rotten fruit then passes its infection to the next fruit and so on. This is what happens with your skin cells with free radicals. How do I reduce free radicals in my skin? The number 1 way to prevent free radicals and in turn the ageing process is broad spectrum SPF help to prevent UV-induced free radical damage. Applying antioxidants onto the skin can help boost your body's antioxidant-generating capacity, or directly help to neutralize free radicals. When applied topically, antioxidants can help to slow down the processes which break down the proteins in the skin, such as collagen fibers. My absolute favourite anti-oxidant is Eve Taylor Anti-oxidant Masque with Phyto Collagen It is recommended for Ageing and prematurely ageing skin. Skin experiencing high levels of pollution or free radicals. Benefits: This lightweight textured creamy masque is perfect for all those concerned with skin ageing, pollution or free radicals. Stimulating cocktail of ingredients replenishes the skin, helping to retain and restore natural radiance and smoothness. 2/9/2021 0 Comments All Things Skin
Today Skin specialists Helen Turnock and myself went live on Dynamik Beauty's Facebook page for an all things skin talk. Take a look some great hints and tips in there.
First of all toner is not used to remove the excess cleanser that may be left on your skin. Cleanser should be thoroughly removed previous to any toner application.
I'm sure many of us over the years have soaked a cotton wool ball with the most astringent toner and applied it to our face, only to see it dry out and sting our skin. These days toner are the complete opposite they are used to compliment any skin routine you may be using. The most important use of a toner is to bring your skin back to its natural PH. When your skin is cleansed if a toner is not used it can take up to about 10 hours, this can lead to an impaired barrier function and lead onto breakouts, dehydration etc. My favourite way of applying toner is with a spritz. By doing this you will not be removing any serums etc that have been applied underneath. spritz toners can be used during the day for that extra rehydration and have been great for combatting the effects of maskne. Which toner should i use? When deciding on a toner you should choose in a similar way as you would with your cleanser or moisturiser. Your Toner should be aimed at skin concerns whether you have oily skin, dehydration, fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation etc. If you would like any advice contact me [email protected] 1/27/2021 0 Comments Why you HAVE to use SPF-Most people think that they only need SPF when they are out in the sun, while on holiday or in the height of the summer months, to protect their skin from burning. This is a massive misconception, UV rays affect your skin all year round even in the winter.
UV rays are the biggest cause of aging skin. They cause brown patches (hyperpigmentation) wrinkles and dull lack lustre skin. They can even lead to skin cancer. Did you know that UV rays can pass through windows and through clouds on those rainy days. So this is why you need to protect your skin 365 days a year. If you're serious about preventing premature aging experts say protection from UVA and UVB rays is no longer enough, as evolving research confirms that blue light emitted from our digital devices is also bad for our skin. -Use broad spectrum SPF daily. this will cover you from UVA and UVB rays. -Reapply. If you especially are outside all day or swimming or sweating alot. -Apply to all parts of the body that are exposed to the sun. - Do not use body sunscreen on your face. This will clog pores and highly likely to cause breakouts and blackheads. 1/20/2021 0 Comments Hyaluronic AcidHave you heard of the skincare ingredient Hyaluronic Acid? This ingredient is becoming the skincare must have for every skin type and condition. But why? As a therapist of 16 years I would say 99% of my clients I see have dehydrated skin. This is due to big changes in temperature, air con, heating, diet and much more. Finding ways to rehydrate is a must to prevent a lot of skin problems from breakouts to wrinkles and hyaluronic acid can do just that. Hyaluronic Acid is made naturally within our skin. It isn't as scary as it first sounds. Hyaluronic acid holds up to 1000 times its own weight in water therefore bringing in a massive amount of hydration immediately. By applying Hyaluronic acid topically after washing your skin there is an instant hydration and refreshed look to your skin. Hyaluronic acid comes in many different products from toners, eye creams, moisturizer's and serums. Message me if you would like to know more |
